I cancelled worship services this morning. But it was far from an easy call. When will the temp rise enough to turn freezing rain to melting rain? How long will it take to melt all the ice on the steps and parking lot? What will people face on the roads?
This is a decision I don't like to make. I tossed and turned through the night. I had the alarm set for 5:30, but got up at 5:15. There's a coat of ice on the trees, walks and roads.
Given that information, I made the decision to cancel services. I guess I'd rather be safe than sorry.
I'm glad we provide a service for home worship each month. Now people have a resource to facilitate worship when we cancel services at church.

I know that was a difficult call but you made the right one. We have had numerous people fall at work. The healing process for the over 50 crowd gets harder and harder... and expensive.
Now we need to make a call about Christmas caroling at 3:00 PM.
