Thru the Bible 7.4.07

It's July. That means we're 1/2 way through the Bible. Two things really struck me this week:

First, we're not even close to reaching the New Testament. That strikes me, because most of the sermons I preach, and most I've heard, cover texts from the New Testament. Why don't more people preach from the Old Testament? Why don't I?

Second, as Jehoshaphat appointed judges (2 Chron 19) he gave the following advice, "Be bold and diligent. And God be with you as you do your best" (The Message). I can't think of better words of encouragment to give to people involved in ministry.

Be bold. Be diligent. Do your best.

Amen!
