Today is the Fourth of July.
This morning, I played golf with Derek. My children went to two different Christian Day Camps. Janet went to pray with her prayer partner. This afternoon, we'll have a picnic with Derek and Amber, then head out to watch fireworks.
Meanwhile, a lot of people's dads, moms, sons, daughters, brothers, sisters and friends are risking their lives to allow me to enjoy my day without worry. That thought is never far from me.
I think of it every time I see the flag. I think of it every time I hear our National Anthem. I think of it every time I'm at a ballgame with my boys.
So to those of you who are in harms way, thank you. To those who have loved ones in harms way, thank you. And as a tribute, I share this video I found:
