- Christ's sacrifice frees us from life's baggage (Chapter 1)
- Christ's sacrifice frees us from slavery to rules (Chapter 2)
This week, we turn to Galatians 3:23-29 in which we see that Christ's sacrifice makes us heirs to the promise God made to Abraham.
430 years before God gave the Law, God accepted Abraham because of Abraham's faith. As a result, God made promises to Abraham and his seed. The seed being referred to is Christ (3:16).
Paul tells us that the purpose of the Law was not to provide justification, but to point us to Christ. Now that Christ has come, there is no longer need for the Law. Therefore, we no longer live by it, but by faith.
It is faith that unites us with Christ, clothing us with His righteousness. And that union makes us one, with no racial, social, or gender distinctions.
Thanks be to God!
