So, we went back to the beginning. God. God created Adam and Eve, put them in the Garden of Eden, and game them one and only one rule… you can eat anything you want, except for the fruit of just one tree. We know how that one ended.
God rebelled against God's truth and submitted to Satan's lie. This has been many ladies' problem ever since then. They have been submitting to Satan's lies and ending up with broken hearts. But it doesn't have to be that way.
The power of sin has been broken. That means the tables can be turned. Ladies, you can choose to rebel against Satan's lies and submit to God's truth. Let me suggest three ways:
- Rebel against the “outward beauty” lie; submit to the "inward" beauty truth. From the moment you were born you’ve been told that what matters is your outward appearance. But that's Satan's lie. Charm is deceptive and beauty is fleeting (Proverbs 31:30). The truth is that a woman's true beauty is found in her relationship with God. The more you grow in your relationship with Him, the more desireable you will become to Godly men.
- Rebel against the “I need a guy” lie; submit to the "I need God" truth. Damsels in distress waiting for their knight in shining armor to come and sweep them off their feet and carry them into happily ever after makes for a great fair tale, but it’s a destructive way to look at relationships. Ladies, you do not need a man to complete you. Rebel against Satan's lie. God is all you need (Philippians 4:19). The love and acceptance you crave is found in Him. Your security is found in Him. He is the only one who will never leave and never let you down.
- Rebel against the “I can change him” lie; submit to the "God's best" truth. Ladies, what's the deal with bad boys? How can sweet, godly girls settle for guys who rebel against God? Why do you settle? You think you can change him. But you can't. Only God can change lives. Do not settle for a fix-er-upper. Rebel against the lie. A guy's life will quickly demonstrate his heart (Matthew 7:17-20). If his life isn't producing Godly fruit, cut him loose. God has someone better for you. Trust Him.
