Sometimes you come across stories that are so amazing, they're hard to believe. When faced with these stories, you have one of three options; verify, wait and see, or consider the source.
The problem is that verifying and waiting are sometimes not options. Take, for example, this story.
What do you do with that? You can't verify it, everybody who was there is dead (well, except Jesus). You can't wait and see, because by the time you can prove it, it will be too late to make a decision.
The only option is to consider the source. That's the approach the Peter takes in defending the truthfulness of the transfiguration. Check it out here.
Peter offers three proofs:
- What they saw. There were three eyewitnesses, all with the same story.
- What they heard. Forget E.F. Hutton, when God speaks, people listen.
- Scripture. God spoke through the prophets
There's no mistake here. It's not a carefully constructed story. Instead, it's hard evidince that Jesus will return.
The only question is, are you ready? If you're not sure, click here.
