This is the question "My Utmost for His Highest" asks today. Have I heard God's voice? If, by that question, you mean audibly...like Moses on the mountain...no. But God speaks in so many other ways.
This morning, I heard God speak through three specific sources:
- A blog article - I was reading a friend's blog today. The subject of the blog was the need for God to melt the ice surrounding his soul from the inside out. So I say, thank you, God, for what you are doing in the life of my friend.
- An email - I received a message from another friend today, asking me to review a resignation letter he is planning to submit. This friend is really desiring to give his life fully to God and believes his job may be limiting his ability to do that. So I say, thank you, God, for what you are doing in the life of my friend.
- A gasoline can - We had a mess of winter storm to clean up this morning - snow, covered with a layer of ice. It was the job for my neighbor's snowblower. Two minutes into the job, the blower quit. I discovered I was out of gas. And I didn't have any. My neighbor peeked her head out the door and said, "There's a can of gas in the trunk of the car. Here are the keys." So I say, thank you, God, for the can of gas.
Have you heard God speak today?
