Goodbye, Glenn

I had a new experience yesterday, one I didn't really want to have, but feel very honored to be invited to do.

Yesterday, Glenn Wingerd died, and I was there. It's the first time was there when someone took their last breath. I won't go into the details. Those of you who have been there before know exactly what it's like, and there's no way to describe it adequately.

I was there because the family called, asking me to come and pray with them. When I arrived, death was close. Glenn's daughters were there. So was his sister. As I prayed, I asked God to bring healing to Glenn's body and to shower grace on those gathered, waiting for God's answer. The answer came within about 15 minutes. God healed Glenn, by calling him home.

Glenn's struggle is over. I'm praying for this family as they say goodbye. The funeral is Friday at 11:00am at Prince Street Church.
