1 Timothy 6:17-19 includes some of the best investment advice you'll ever hear. Think only rich people need investment advice? Well, consider this:
  • If you have shelter with less than 10 people living in it, from a global perspective, you are rich.
  • If you have more than one set of clothes, from a global perspective, you are rich.
  • If you have a pair of shoes, from a global perspective, you are rich.
  • If you have access to medical care and clean drinking water, from a global perspective, you are rich.

Suddenly, your portfolio looks a lot better, doesn't it? So let's get back to that investment advice. Here it is: Wise investing requires godly attitudes and actions.

Let's start with the attitudes. You'll find the following in verse 17:

  • Beware of pride.
  • Place your hope correctly.
  • Enjoy what God provides.

Verse 18 gives us some actions to accompany the attitudes:

  • Do the most good with your wealth.
  • Be hospitable with your possessions.

What happens when these attitudes and actions are in place? Here are the guaranteed results:

  • You'll build a foundation for eternity.
  • You'll discover true life here.

How's that for some fantastic investment advice?
