Reading the account of Hezekiah has, for the most part, been a pleasant relief. A king who actually follows God was, unfortunately, rare for God's people. And then today's passage ended with this:
"Hezekiah replied to Isaiah, "Good. If God says so, it's good." Within himself he was thinking, "But surely nothing bad will happen in my lifetime. I'll enjoy peace and stability as long as I live.""
I guess self-centered, present-focused leadership is nothing new. But God's leaders are to be different.
Lord, help me to bless others in such a way that future generations are blessed!
