Today we began a survey of the book of Galatians. My goal is not to cover every verse, or even every theme, but to give a foundation upon which you can build your own study of this powerful book.In this first week, we focus our attention on Galatians 1:11-24 in which Paul declares the glorious truth that Christ's sacrifice enables us to live free in God's grace.
What does God's grace enable us to live free from?
- We are free from the baggage of human reasoning.
- We are free from the baggage of a sinful past.
- We are free from the baggage of seeking people's approval.
- We are free from the baggage of living by people's expectations.
The list could go on and on. Jesus' sacrifice enables us to unload the baggage that keeps us from living free in God's grace. Then we are able to freely pursue the life God picked us for, even before we were born.
