Thru the Bible 1.24.07

Here are a few quotes I struck me as I read through the Bible this week...

Quote: "Now I know how fearlessly you fear God; you didn't hesitate to place your son, your dear son, on the altar for me." (Gen. 22:12)
Thought: Abraham was willing to give his promised son to God by faith. Why do I balk when asked to sacrifice far less?

Quote: "Esau then realized how displeasing the Canaanite women were to his father Isaac; so he went to Ishmael and married Mahalath, the sister of Nebaioth and daughter of Ishmael son of Abraham, in addition to the wives he already had." (Gen. 28:8)
Thought: Doing things for spite often causes you more problems than the one you hope to hurt.

Quote: "The messengers came back to Jacob and said, "We talked to your brother Esau and he's on his way to meet you. But he has four hundred men with him." Jacob was scared. Very scared." (Gen 32:6-7)
Thought: When you live a life of honesty and humility, you don't have to be scared of other people's responses.
