The Workout Saga Continues

I have been wrestling with the idea of working out at the gym in the mornings. For the orginal story, click here.

I was supposed to have made a decision by last Monday. But Monday found me in Huntington, IN, which gave me an excuse to delay. This week, my friend Derek is on a business trip in Arizona, which gives me one more week until I have to act.

One of my challenges is the time. 5:30 am seems impossible to me. However, next week Daylight Saving Time kicks in. Typically, I don't like changing the clock. It messes up my scheduling, which, as those of you who know me well realize, is probably too important to me.

But this time, I'm going to try to use it to my advantage. Next week's 5:30 is this week's 6:30. So if I could set my wake up schedule to 6:30 instead of 7:00 this week, I might have a chance at getting up on time next Monday to meet Derek at the gym.

As you can tell, my mind has been won over by the "Pros". My attitude is still wavering. And my behavior is still sleeping in.

I wonder who will win?

Pastor Jim,

Once you get used to the time. it is not as difficult as you might think. Here is something that is really difficult. Coming back to PA weather when the weather in Az is so nice. Let me tell you something though, flying is better left off to the birds.

Derek,

Good to hear from you. Aren't those spacious airplane seats comfortable?

I'm looking forward to hearing about your trip.

I'm also praying for you. Being away from home with lots of free time in the evening can be a very difficult experience.

Come home safely.
