Pleasantly Unplugged

I have been away from the world since Friday afternoon. And, I must say, the break was wonderful.

The family and I decided to attend Family Camp at Rhodes Grove Camp. Now when I say "camp", please understand. We're not talking about tents. We rent a cabin with A/C, heat, 1-1/2 baths, full kitchen, livingroom, and bedroom. Add to that a full meal plan in the climate controlled Meadows Conference Center and leisure activities like a swimming pool, gymnasium, horseback riding, and a zip-line, and you have a great weekend together.

The speaker for the weekend was Dr. Bruce McCracken, founder of House on the Rock Family Ministries. The session included interactive learning experiences and conversations surrounding the following topics:

F - Faith
A - Affirmation
M - Merriment (an old word for fun)
I - Identity
L - Love
Y - Your story

What a great event! If you ever have opportunity to attend a workshop led by this speaker or at Rhodes Grove, I'd strongly suggest taking advantage of it.

Tomorrow, it's back to the routine. But I'm thankful for opportunities to unplug from the world to plug into the lives of my family.
