A couple years ago, a friend began the practice of taking a few minutes at 10, 2 and 6 to read the Gospels. I've been thinking about it on and off since then, and have decided to modify it a bit to fit my life (a 6:00 break just doesn't work for me). How?
Last year, some friends gave me an audio book compilation of Michael W. Smith reading the Gospels. It's divided by chapter, each providing a 4-6 minute episode. That's the perfect length for a coffee break. So, here's my plan.
When I'm in the office, I typically break for coffee at about 10:30 am. Depending on the day, and my schedule, I sometimes take a break in the afternoon about 2:30 pm. Each time I break, I plan to listen to an episode from the Gospel.
I began on Monday with Mark 1 and really enjoyed it. I was out of the office all day yesterday. This morning I'll pick it up with chapter 2.
Thanks, Todd, for the idea, and for your friendship.
