Today, we began a new series called "Three Questions". Over these weeks, I'm going to encourage you to look outside the realm of personal goals. We're looking at some deep questions that can lead us to accomplish more than we ever dreamed. Today's question is, “What do I want to see God do this year?”
I’ll bet that question catches more than a few of us off guard. Most of us spend almost all our time and energy on the small stuff of life. Consequently, our prayer times are full of small stuff. But Jesus gave us specific instructions about the small stuff. Check out Matthew 6:31-34.
Since we don’t have to sweat the small stuff, we can come to God with different things. So let me ask the question in another way. What are you asking God for that’s big?
Is there anything that you’re praying for that if God won’t, it won’t? Something so big that maybe it’s intimidating? So big that the small stuff disappears?
Today, I want to invite you to latch onto something big, and be relentless in your praying until God does something in response to what you’re asking. Sound bold? Well, it is. And that's exactly what Jesus instructed us to do. Just check out Luke 11:1-10 to see what I mean.
My friends, God is BIG; let's ask BIG. Let's look beyond the things He has already given us the resources to accomplish and find something so big that it honors the greatness of an all-powerful God.
Then, let's ask & ask & ask & seek & seek & seek & knock & knock & knock and refuse to give in until God acts. As we do, we’ll see that the things that seem big now will get smaller and some small things will get bigger.
What are you going to pray for that is so big that it honors the size, the might, and the power of your heavenly father?

getting back to the ask for big things: I'm asking for God to allow my mother to survive her battle with cancer. Drs. say its bad and fast moving but i say my God is faster and bigger than any cancer! I'm asking,and knocking, and seeking and asking, persisting and believing, and trusting, and thanking him each day for always being with me and my family even when we drifted away from him. I am humbled by his unconditional love and everlasting faithfullness to me and mine! Praise be to God!!! Cindy Gilbert psu/mom
