Sunday Rewind 09.28.08

Let me ask you a question, “How many of you want to see God’s blessings poured out in your life?” Here's another, “Is your life prepared to receive God’s blessing?”

  • If he dropped $1 mil. in your lap, could you be a faithful steward?
  • If a friend you’ve known for years asked you how to receive Christ as Savior, could you confidently help him?
  • If He brought miraculous healing to a relationship that’s been broken for years, could you receive that person graciously?
  • If your co-worker shared a problem with you and asked for your advice, could you give wise counsel from Scripture?

Is your life prepared to receive God's blessing? Here's some advice from God’s Word about how you can prepared.

  • Prepare your faith (Hebrews 11:6). Without faith, it's impossible to please God. But faith isn't what many think it is. It is not desire. It is not mental belief. It is not religion. Faith is confidence in God that results in action. Is your faith prepared to receive God's blessing?
  • Prepare your actions (James 2:17). Do people see that God makes a difference in your life? Talk is cheap. People with real faith always have actions to match. Noah built an Ark. Abram left home not knowing where he was going. The walls of Jericho fell only after the people of Israel hiked around the city. Are your actions prepared to receive God's blessing?
  • Prepare your mouth (Matthew 12:34). Our words expose our real nature…what’s down deep in our heart. So if you say you believe God will bring healing, then spend all your time complaining about the situation, it's pretty obvious what you really believe. God is bigger than any giant you come across. He’s able to give you victory over any giant. But you have to believe. And if you really believe, your words will demonstrate it. Is your mouth prepared to receive God's blessing?
  • Prepare your life (2 John 1:6). Many people want rain, but are not in the right place to receive it. That place is obedience. It's one thing to want God's blessings; it's another to live in the intimate relationship with God that produces showers of blessing in your life. Based on your current level of obedience, what’s the likelihood of God’s blessing in your life? Is your life prepared to receive God's blessing?
