We

We had an amazing weekend.

On Friday evening and all day Saturday, we talked through our story as Prince Street Church. Some parts of the story were glorious. Many were not. Some were really painful.

One of the most powerful parts of the weekend was the insistence of our facilitator, Dr. Ken Quick, of owning the story by using "we" instead of "they". Throughout the story, I found it interesting that we had no problem doing that when the stories were good. But when the stories turned painful, using "we" became very hard. But our story as a church is just that..."our" story. And owning that is important for the work that lies ahead.

We know our story...now what?

Over the next couple weeks, our leaders will be preparing ways to document our story and asking the Lord of the Church to show us what we need to do about it. Part of that will include a service of reconciliation in which we confess sin, forgive each other and find healing in God's grace.

Pray for us...that we will hear the Lord's voice very clearly...and that we will have the courage to give Him what He wants.
