My Utmost 04.23.08

It's been awhile since I've posted about my journey through the Oswald Chambers devotional classic, "My Utmost for His Highest". Why?

To some extent, forgetfullness has played a part. Sometimes I just forget to post.

But to a greater extent, I have been guilty of telling myself that I don't have time. This is an extremely busy period of work. We're working together to put together a service of corporate repentance. We're working our way through helping Pastor Craig finish well. And we're working on preparing to hire our next staff position.

So, today's article hit especially hard. Here's the quote:

"Beware of any work for God that causes or allows you to avoid concentrating on Him. A great number of Christian workers worship their work. The only concern of Christian workers should be their concentration on God."

Thank you, Lord, for the reminder...and for getting me back on track!

pastor Jim, I have enjoyed reading your blog site. It is comforting to read about the trials that you and the church have . I know that am I gaining knowledge of how to handle these same problems with my owe life and my church. Thank you so much for sharing your feeling and insight into these matters. I see that you have had a bird problem, well that reminds me of a song "His eye is on the sparrow and I know he cares for me." See God was just telling you that He had His eyes on you. I know if we always keep our eyes on Him, we will see Him.I will be praying for you, your church and Pastor Craig's new mission.Praise the Lord and All of nature will sing. Even Birds
