Getting Away to Pray

I'm "cloistering" today. Why?

Well, for one, spending significant time in prayer is something I believe spiritual leaders are supposed to do. So,one of my spiritual discipline goals for this year is to spend at least one complete day in prayer each month. I booked the first Tuesday on my calendar to help make me remember to do it.

But there's more to it than that...

Tomorrow is a major day for Youth Ministry. Bob Lenz is speaking in the schools during the day, and at the Luhrs Center at Shippensburg University in the evening. We've been praying about this for months, asking God to touch lives.

But that's not all...

This weekend, Ken Quick is coming to facilitate a journey through the story of Prince Street Church. We believe that there are unresolved issues within the body that we need to identify, and find healing through God's grace for. For the past week or so, a team of 6 has been reading through Board minutes and other records to try to identify those stories. We met together last night to discuss our findings...a four-hour meeting. We have lots to talk through. Pray for us.

And there's more...

I'm also getting away to just make myself available to God. Life goes so fast. I need times to just be quiet and listen. So I made arrangements to spend the day at Rhodes Grove Camp for the day.
