Last week, I confess that I was considering killing the robin that has been attacking our living room windows. I'm no longer considering it. I've decided to act.
I began by preparing a plan. I thought about poisoned bird seed, but I don't really want to commit mass murder, just a simple execution. Besides, the thought of dead birds littering my yard isn't exactly the curb appeal I'm looking for. I also thought about a net, but then I'd have a live bird in a net. I suppose that I could leave the bird trapped until it expires, but I don't want the bird to suffer. So I decided on firearms.
But which firearm? After all, I live in the confines of the borough, and discharging a firearm would likely create additional problems for me. Besides that, using a 12-gauge shotgun on a robin seems like a bit of overkill. I decided on my son's BB gun.
As I write, the Red Rider is sitting by our side door waiting to strike. Now I just need the opportunity to shoot this bird without hitting the window.
