Today is the day I normally update you on my journey through "My Utmost for His Highest". I'm not going to do that this week so that I can comment on my entire Holy Week experiment of not asking God for anything, just sitting in His presence, listening.
So, instead, I want to share something exciting that happened today.
I drug myself out of bed this morning and headed to the gym. I really just wanted to stay in bed, but I didn't. Wednesday is weigh-in day. I really didn't want to step on the scale, but I did.
For the last 3 weeks, weight loss has stopped. If anything, it's reversed itself. I've been hovering around 316 and 317. It's been a little discouraging. But I've kept with it, sweating through the extra cardio workouts, and being hungry at night.

This morning, the scale read 314, and I rejoiced. The work has paid off. And I've reached a new milestone. I've now taken off 10 pounds in 12 weeks. Even with the plateau, I'm still ahead of my goal of being under 300 pounds by 2008.
I celebrated with an ab and back workout, followed by a sauna. I'll get back to the cardio tomorrow.

Congratulations!! I know the struggle. I am trying to get down to 165 but I can't seem to get past 170. Now you may say 170 is nothing, but, to a 5'6" man that is actually 15 lbs over weight. Add to that high blood pressure, high triglycerides, and other misc issues... well it is very important that I keep my weight down.
It's funny but I too was happy to get on the scales this morning and discover I was under 170. Yea! It sure is a lot of work to get there though. Hey, keep up the good work. We both know it really is worth it.

Awesome job. Keep at it. It's good to remember that you aren't just losing weight but just plain getting healthy. And that's the most important thing. Way to go.
