Gone Doctorin'

I turned 40 last summer. So I decided it was about time that I get a complete physical. And by complete, I mean complete.

When January arrived, and I had still not made the appointment, I scolded myself and set a goal. I decided that before the month was over, I would make an appointment. Somewhere around the 25th, I finally got around to it. And last Wednesday, the date arrived.

Now, I wasn't really happy to be there in the first place. I got even less happy when I had to wait for an hour after my appointment time to be taken back for the exam. And you know what you have to do on the way from the waiting room to the exam room, right? Weight and temperature.

Just about every time I've ever done this, the routine is the same. The nurse sets the weight, I step on, and the nurse has to move the weights to the right. Not a pleasant experience! But this time I was excited. She didn't know I've been working on losing weight (and apparently I'm not showing yet).

She set the weight and I stepped onto the scale. Then I smiled. She moved the weight to the LEFT. I smiled more. She move the weight further to the LEFT. I smiled even more. She moved the weight to the LEFT a third time! I had lost 7 pounds since my last visit in November.

Now it's time for blood work. We'll see how that goes.
