One of my favorite memories is skipping school to go deer hunting with my Dad.
Every year, we would go to Twin Pines Camp, near Stroudsburg, PA for deer camp. Since I grew up in the city of Allentown, where you didn't get days off from school for hunting, it meant I got to skip school and hang out with my Dad. Although I never was a big fan of deer hunting, I loved not being in school.
Well, I'm still not much into hunting. But I do enjoy the PA Farm Show. So this Friday, I'm taking the boys out of school for a trip to Harrisburg.
I know... I'm not a farmer. I struggle to grow tomatoes. What am I doing going to the Farm Show?
We eat and look at tractors. We eat and look at animals. We eat and pretend to be farmers. Did you catch a common theme?
It's all about making memories with my sons. They will be grown all too soon. And maybe, just maybe, when they look back, they'll smile like I am right now, remembering great times with my Dad.
