My family and I will be joining many others on the highways today.
Thanksgiving is the big holiday for Janet's family. Her sister and nephew have already arrived from Dallas, TX. The cousins from Vermont and Virginia are on the way. We will arrive this evening. All of this is very normal. But there is something different.
We're not gathering at the same place. Janet's parents moved this year, and Thanksgiving dinner is being held at their new place. The biggest difference will come on Friday. We won't have to spend the day doing yardwork, as their new place is in a development in which yardwork is taken care of.
I've spent the last couple days roasting decaf coffee so that my father-in-law and I can enjoy some coffee on the deck. I can't wait.
