Sunday Rewind 3.19.07

This is the 4th week of "Spring Training", a.k.a. Lent. It's a season of anticipation and preparation. During this season, we're looking at five essential elements necessary to thrive as a disciple of Jesus Christ. So far, we've covered:

  • Collective Worship - coming together to celebrate God and participate in His story.
  • Spiritual Disciplines - ways to exercise, nourish and rest our souls.
  • Small Group Participation - creates the best environment for loving relationships and spiritual growth to happen

This week, we explore the subject of Ministry Involvement.

When it comes to finding reasons why it's so important to be involved in ministry, the list is long and broad. God's Word addresses the subject in so many places. And they all boil down to one main issue. Ministry Involvement is so important because God created and redeemed us for it.

Check out the following passages:

But there are some great side benefits as well. Check these out:

  • Ministry involvement gives you the opportunity to be part of something bigger than yourself.
  • Ministry involvement helps you see God at work.
  • Ministry involvement makes your spiritual story more compelling.

So how do you know what ministry to become involved in? Ask yourself these questions:

  • What do I love to do?
  • What has God enabled me to do?
  • Where does my personality best suit me?
  • What does my walk with God allow?
  • How much time can I give?

Need some help? Talk to your small group leader or pastor. I'm sure they would love t0 help you get involved. Because on God's team, there are no bench warmers. Only masterpieces!
