On the 4th Day of Christmas

Today is the 4th day of Christmas. What did my true love get me? The most expensive gift of all...time.

Since Janet and the boys have this week off from school, I saved a few days of vacation in order to be with them. Here's what we've done:
  • Hooked up a new computer! It's the first new machine we've had since 1993. We've received some hand-me-downs since then, but have never had a machine that can do everything we want to do. So what have we done?
  • Right now, while typing this article, I'm listening to Rachmaninov's piano concerto #4, movement #3 on an online music site I was introduced to called Musicovery. What a kick!
  • We've set up individual identities for the boys in order to exercise greater overview of their online activity. It's not an issue now, but it won't be long.
  • We spent a couple days with Janet's parents. They came to Shippensburg on Christmas day and left the day after.

And here's what's on the agenda:

  • This afternoon, we are visiting with our friends, Burt & Tana Hey.
  • Tonight, Janet and I will attend a retirement party for a colleague whom I respect greatly, Rev. Ron Cook.
  • Tomorrow, we will travel to Allentown to visit with a couple of my friends from High School. We have not been together since my wedding, in 1990. One is a missionary in Brazil who is home on fulough. Our families have never been together. We all have elementary school age children. I'm really looking forward to it.
  • We'll stop in to see my parents in Allentown.
  • On New Year's Eve day, we'll visit our friends in Reading, Larry and Yongmee. It's our traditional get-together.
  • We'll celebrate Janet's birthday with her parents.

So there's what I'm up to on the 4th day of Christmas.
