Things I Learned on Thanksgiving Vacation

I'm back from Thanksgiving holiday. It was wonderful. Here are a few things I learned while away on vacation:
  • A quiet Wednesday evening at home with the family is a wonderful thing.
  • Traveling on Thanksgiving Day isn't as hectic as I'd imagined.
  • Never, and I mean never, drive past Starbucks on the way through Lancaster.
  • Rain helps keep me from doing something stupid, like playing football before Thanksgiving dinner.
  • People who sit at the kid's end of the table have more fun than people sitting at the grown-up end of the table.
  • Whoever brings a pie other than pumpkin deserves great rewards here, and in heaven.
  • Leftover turkey sandwiches tast better if you have some creamed onions to go on top.
  • Splitting wood is easier if you've been faithful at working out.
  • Traveling on the Sunday after Thanksgiving is no fun.
  • Combining days off with holidays is a great way to extend vacation time.
  • It is possible to lose weight over Thanksgiving.
  • Saunas are a great way to relax.
  • Waking up at 5:30 am on you first day back to the office isn't too bad.

Tomorrow is the day of decision. My 30-day free trial at the gym ends tomorrow. Hmmm...
