Two weeks ago I signed off for vacation. What did I do? Actually, as little as possible.
The first week was spent at Rhodes Grove Camp in a beautiful little cabin (#7 for the locals). It just so happens that our kids were invited to attend VBS with some friends that week, giving Janet and me our evenings free. It was great.
Week 2 was spent in a beachfront house at Bethany Beach (thanks to my fantastic in-laws). Seven steps from the beach is not a bad way to spend a week!
I returned to the office yesterday. It was a little rough. After disengaging the brain, it's sometimes hard to get it back into gear.
Nevertheless, vacation is a good thing. It gives extended time with my most important congregation, my family. It gives time to reflect, recharge and refocus. And I always come back energized.
Tomorrow, I'll share the most exciting part of my vacation. Until then...
