Accepting Excepting

I've been wrestling with the issue of acceptance. It's easy to accept people who look like me, think like me, view the world as I do, etc. But what about people who are different? Unfortunately, that's often accepting turns into excepting. Imagine God saying...

I'll accept anyone except people with college diplomas.
I'll accept anyone except people who fit into social norms.
I'll accept anyone except people with functional familes.
I'll accept anyone except...well you get the idea.

And yet, God accepts everyone without exception.

It doesn't matter what you've done.
It doesn't matter who you are in the worlds eyes.
It doesn't matter what your family tree looks like.
It doesn't matter...again, you get the idea.

What if we responded to people the way God does? What would church look like? What message would we proclaim to the world?

What are we proclaiming now?
