Thank you for your prayer support for this past weekend's Board Retreat Day. It was a fantastic day of talking together about ministry, and about the role God has for us, as leaders, in guiding Prince Street Church into the future.
Here are some reflections:
- There was a spirit of openness. We were not only willing to speak, but willing to listen as well. That's not always true of every church board. But it's true of this one, and I am thankful!
- There was a spirit of unity. It is very clear that our leadership team is on the same page, working toward the same goal. What's the goal? Prince Street Church exists to glorify God by preparing healthy, growing, reproducing disciples of Jesus Christ.
- There was a spirit of reality. We spent some time to evalute ourselves. Some of that was encouraging. Some of it hurt a bit. But that's a good thing. Discovering what you're doing well is great. Discovering where you need to work on is better.
- There was a spirit of humility. Nobody can do everything. Just like each part of a body needs the others, we need each other (hmmm...it seems like I've read that somewhere). I really enjoyed watching our leaders working together.
Well, there are a few reflections on the weekend. I'll post some pictures later. But thanks again for your participation in this event in person, and in prayer. I appreciate you. And I can't wait to see what God has in store for us as we keep our eyes fixed on Jesus.
