Going Spottin'

In my part of the world, a widely practiced recreational event is "going spottin'". The evening starts at dusk with a high-powered flashlight, a pick-up truck, and some beverage of choice. The participants then spend the evening driving over mountains and through fields looking for deer. I agreed to go along one night. I was amazed at how much people can learn from looking at deer at night. But it got me to thinking...

How much more amazing would it be to go "spottin'" God's activities in this dark world?

This week alone, I have seen God working in the life of a 30-something mom, a 50-something man, and a 70-something gentleman. Here are the stories...

We have been intentionally working together to become a congregation characterized by loving relationships. This past week, the 30-something mom came to me asking what I thought about her getting some people together to crochet blankets, etc., for people who needed them. What an answer to prayer. That's a God spot.

We have been intentionally working together to become a congregation characterized by prayer. This past week I joined a 50-something man, who has been growing by leaps and bounds in his relationship with God pray passionately, thanking God for his salvation, and asking God to save the souls of his friends. That's a God spot.

Just yesterday I sat with a 70-something gentleman who is sensing God transitioning him out of some leadership positions in the church to make room for younger participants. I have rarely experienced such spiritual maturity. That's a God spot.

So I thought I'd post a blog giving you opportunities to record your God spottin' moments.

Let the praises begin!
